WebAsyst Shopping Cart service launched!
We launched our new web-service WebAsyst Shopping Cart!
Now it is open for everyone. We invite you whether to test our new service or to start using it.

WebAsyst Shopping Cart is a web-service for creating online stores that we created on the basis of Shop-Script PREMIUM shopping cart software. Today WebAsyst Shopping Cart offers more features than Shop-Script. Everyone can subscribe for WebAsyst for free and get dedicated online storefront instantly. Detailed description of the new service is on its website.
When new version of Shop-Script will be released?
We have been working on Shop-Script to make WebAsyst Shopping Cart service for over an year now. During this time we significantly improved Shop-Script and made major changes in Shop-Script kernel. We plan to introduce new version of Shop-Script on February 2008. New version’s features will be identical to WebAsyst Shopping Cart’s.
We will offer free upgrades to new version of Shop-Script to all existing Shop-Script clients (both PRO and PREMIUM versions).
One of the major improvements in Shop-Script that we made during the last year is update technology that will allow us to release updates quickly and easily. Much time was spend on this
After you switch to the new version, you will be able to install updates smoothly - you will not have to worry about changes in storefront design you made (unless you make critical changes in your store functions and look&feel) - new features will merely appear in your store backend, and you will decide whether to use new functions or not.
Now we will be making a downloadable software package from today’s WebAsyst Shopping Cart web service. We will do our best to make it installable on servers with various configurations, and to make upgrade process for you as smooth as possible.
Thank you for your patience and for awaiting for new updates. If you are interested in the upcoming Shop-Script, we encourage you to subscribe for the new WebAsyst Shopping Cart and see how will new version look like. We will be publishing news regarding new version’s development process in this blog.
Cannot realize what apart from design has improved to new version of store. I don’t see any new useful features. It is sad you forgot about best product you had PREMIUM shop script.
Better additional business for you would be selling additional modules for this script.
If I were after a online store not a script I would prefer better some eBay pro stores then this…

We did not forget about Shop-Script
this is just a first start of WA Shopping Cart. we plan to integrate new features.
Comparing to Shop-Script PREMIUM, we changed its internal structure significantly, and you can’t see these features visually (though features like full localization ablility, desing editor are big advantage of the new system). Soon we plan to release new features like discount coupons, new templates, etc.
Our main idea now is to make our product as simple as possible, and only then integrate custom features to the service.

can you list the features of new release? how it look like, i am happy to purchase your script if you have more features like x-cart/ so many lack of features.
Comment by johnson — November 9, 2007 @ 12:49 pm
Currently we do not have a complete list of new features. We will publish it as soon is WebAsyst Shopping Cart is released as downloadable software package (with open source code).

Is new version of Shop-Script Premium will use same technology? I mean it will still use Smarty like current version of Shop-Script?
Comment by Ben — December 8, 2007 @ 4:28 am
Of course, we use Smarty in the new version.
Comment by Vladimir V. Tuporshin — December 10, 2007 @ 1:42 am
Will the new version allow for static URLs? Where can I look for help from other Shop-Script users with making adjustments to my website?
Comment by Aaron — December 19, 2007 @ 10:21 am
New version will support user friendly URLs — take a look at WA Shopping Cart demo http://demo.webasyst.net/shop/
However, these URLs are not static files - they are generated in real-time.
What do you mean by “help from other Shop-Script users”? If you mean something like discussion forum, I’m sorry, we do not have one.
Comment by Vladimir V. Tuporshin — December 19, 2007 @ 10:30 am
Aaron, I can help you for adjustment your site since Shop-Script is so easy to customize the look. We can talk about the helping price hehe.
Comment by Ben — December 26, 2007 @ 5:22 am

Comment by Ben — February 9, 2008 @ 10:18 am
When new version releases pls. let me know… if there is a introductry discount price… that will be great.
Comment by Mohammad — February 9, 2008 @ 1:50 pm
Please let me know what do you mean by introductory discount price?
Comment by Vladimir V. Tuporshin — February 10, 2008 @ 3:04 pm
I Mean,,,, most of the products when introduce to the market they offer a introductory discount to test the produt…. are you willing to do this… actually what will be the price for the new version…
Comment by Mohammad — February 11, 2008 @ 3:43 pm
I have subscribed the webasyst …this is a nice procuct. i think people will like it….. only thing i did not like is DISCOUNT is on the amount basis not products qunaity basis… like in your system if some one buy $100 he may get 1% discount if some one buy $200 he may get 3% discount… this is ok for the retailers… but we are wholesaler from China we need discount on quantity basis… if some one buy 10 pcs. they may get 5% if some one buy 100 pcs. of the same item they may get 20% some thing like this..
Will the new shop-script version have this function ( Quantity based discount) if not can your company do custom made for me… I am ready to pay the extra.
Alo pls. let me know if the new version is fully costomisable as now shop-script and can all the extra modules in webasyst can itegrate in it????
Comment by Mohammad — February 11, 2008 @ 4:04 pm
We don’t plan to inroduce quantity discounts (volume based discounts) with the first release, but plan to do this in the future are the initial version is ready.
Price for the new product will be $299, just like Shop-Scrtipt PREMIUM. Though, I think we will be offering additional discounts for sure (can’t tell more for now, sorry
).
New version will come with fully open source code, and this means you will be able to fully customize it, just like Shop-Script.
Comment by Vladimir V. Tuporshin — February 12, 2008 @ 2:03 am
Thanks for your reply…actually as a wholesaler i must need volume based discounts function…Do you think a PHP programmer can add this function ??? if YES and you know any PHP programmer who can help me to do this i am ready to pay for this…
Comment by Mohammad — February 13, 2008 @ 1:49 pm
Shop-Script is customizable so anyone with PHP knowledge can do this.
You may try finding right people at free lancers websites such as http://www.scriptlance.com/

Thanks
Comment by joseph — March 10, 2008 @ 11:16 am
Hi, with shop-script, do you have any templates available which are not structured in tables, but DIVs? Also, what about static URLs, do you offer that as an add-on or part of the new version? Also how much would an update from an old version cost?
Thanks
Comment by Meera — April 3, 2008 @ 7:42 pm
Yes, static URLs will be supported. New templates are structed in both tables and divs. Tables are required for design editor tool which allows WYSIWYG design editing using drag and drops.
Signup for WebAsyst Shopping cart — http://www.webasyst.net/shop — it works in a much the same way new Shop-Script will be.
Comment by Vladimir V. Tuporshin — April 3, 2008 @ 11:56 pm
What about upgrading, what is the price, and is it very easy to update, without having to delete any database data and pages?
Comment by Meera — April 5, 2008 @ 12:23 pm
Do you mean upgrade from Shop-Script to new version? Every customer of Shop-Script products will get update for free.
We will provide scripts to upgrade your database content and transfer all data from Shop-Script to newer platform except for changes you made in storefront design and source code. If you want to upgrade, you will have to introduce all changes yourself.
Comment by Vladimir V. Tuporshin — April 6, 2008 @ 1:21 pm
Hello,
I need to make static URLs on my older version in shop-script, do you provide any components or modules that I could use to make the URLs static? Without doing it manually.
Comment by Meera — April 13, 2008 @ 10:46 am
This will be supported in the new version.
Comment by Vladimir V. Tuporshin — April 14, 2008 @ 1:20 am
Yes, I have heard that, however, my client does not wish to upgrade, so I need to sort this out manually myself. Do you have any support on this, or have a solution for my problem, except upgrading, as that is not my way out.
Thanks

Hi, i bought your shopping cart (premium) some time ago but am having a problems with Product custom options. How can i create a field where a customer can type in the details and not have to choose from options with fixed values or adjustable characteristics. e.g if i sell T-shirts and i want a field where someone can type in a message to be printed on the shirt (under product custom options). Please help.
Thanks
